If you’re looking to treat your family or friends to an amazing brunch, this apple french toast belongs on the menu. It looks so impressive and tastes heavenly, but it is not difficult to make! Slicing the apples is the most time-consuming part of the prep work- and it is totally worth it!
I have so many happy memories tied to this apple french toast recipe because for as long as I can remember, my grandmother has made it for our family’s Christmas brunch.
Christmas morning just wouldn’t be the same without it! I’m so glad to be able to share it with all of you. I promise, it will make any breakfast or brunch feel special.
How to Make Apple French Toast
First, you’re going to make a syrup by cooking the brown sugar, butter, and syrup. Pour the syrup into a baking dish, and sprinkle the apples on top of it.
Next, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla and pour over your slices of bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight so that all of that flavor and goodness and start to soak in.
The next morning, bake the french toast uncovered at 350 degrees for 40 minutes – the slices will begin to take on a beautiful golden shade and the apples will become nice and soft.
Serve warm with a drizzle of syrup! Look how fancy we are! You’re going to love it.
